Key Features of Helio 65

The Helio 65 brings more than just a big battery to the entry-level smartphone market. Let’s explore how these features perform in everyday use.

Design & Build Quality

The Helio 65 keeps things simple but adds some useful touches to its build. It features a glass front with Iron Guard Protection, a composite chassis, and a textured composite back panel. The pill-shaped camera decoration gives the rear a distinctive look. At 200g, it has some weight, mainly due to its massive battery. Notably, the phone comes with IP64 dust and splash resistance. It can handle everyday dust exposure and water splashes from different directions.

Display

A 120Hz refresh rate is a welcome addition to an entry-level phone. The Helio 65 features a large 6.78-inch IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. It makes scrolling through Facebook, browsing websites, and navigating menus feel smoother. You can also enjoy a more responsive experience while playing casual games. The center punch-hole design gives the screen a modern appearance. However, its 720 × 1612 HD+ resolution is not as sharp as Full HD+ panels.

Performance & Software

The Helio 65 runs on the Unisoc T7250 chipset, an octa-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz. It combines two Cortex-A75 performance cores with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The Arm Mali-G57 MP1 handles graphics. In everyday use, this setup can handle messaging, browsing, social media, video streaming, and other regular tasks. You can also enjoy casual gaming. However, don’t expect flagship-level gaming performance or heavy multitasking capabilities.

Camera

A 50MP main camera gives the Helio 65 a good starting point for everyday photography. Its f/1.8 aperture and autofocus help capture detailed photos in different lighting conditions. Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) also helps reduce unwanted camera shake during video recording. You get several useful camera tools, including

• Live Photos
• Panorama
• Slow motion
• Time-lapse, and
• Dual-view recording

The Live Photo feature captures brief movements and ambient sounds alongside your pictures. Meanwhile, dual-view recording lets you capture footage from both the front and rear cameras in one frame.

Battery & Charging

The 7000mAh battery is arguably one of the biggest reasons to consider the Helio 65. It offers plenty of capacity for long hours of browsing, streaming, messaging, and calling. According to the manufacturer, the high-density battery can deliver up to two days of use, depending on your usage habits. Despite its large capacity, the phone supports 33W wired fast charging. This means you won’t have to spend as much time waiting beside a power outlet.

Connectivity & Features

The Helio 65 packs several useful connectivity options. Its dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. You also get Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BDS for wireless connections and navigation. Notably, NFC support allows contactless payments and quick device pairing where supported. The phone also includes a dedicated microSD card slot, USB Type-C, USB OTG, and a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.
