Key Features of Honor Magic 9 Super Edition

The Honor Magic 9 Super Edition packs features for gamers and users. It combines gaming-focused hardware, a huge battery, active cooling, and a highly responsive display into a single device.

Design and Build

The Honor Magic 9 Super Edition has a glass front, aluminum frame, and a solid 227g body. It measures only 8.1mm, keeping the body slim despite the huge battery and cooling hardware. The 1.03mm narrow bezel gives games and videos more screen space. It also comes with IP68/IP69K protection. The built-in cooling fan further confirms its gaming-first focus.

Display

The 6.81-inch OLED display is one of its biggest highlights. It supports 120Hz refresh rate, with 3840Hz PWM dimming. Remarkably, its local peak brightness can reach 10,000 nits under specific conditions. That can make bright outdoor scenes and HDR gaming content easier to see.

Gaming Performance

At the heart of this Honor phone sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with up to 16GB RAM. It uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, providing faster game loading. Also, the Phantom Engine 3.0 adds another gaming-focused layer. During long sessions, the Honor Dongfeng Turbine Cooling Fan and the Honor Jade Plate-level Cooling System 2.0 work together to manage heat. The Honor RF Enhancement Chip C3 also focuses on maintaining a stronger connection during demanding online gameplay.

Battery and Charging

The 11,000mAh Qinghai Lake battery is a major reason users are attracted to this phone. Its battery technology reportedly uses 25% silicon content and achieves an energy density of 963 Wh/L. This allows the Honor device to pack a large capacity. It supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Camera

Despite its gaming focus, the Honor Magic 9 Super Edition features a capable triple-camera setup. It includes a 200MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP 3x telephoto camera with OIS, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. It can also record up to 4K at 120fps. Gaming content creators can capture gameplay moments, portraits, and videos without another phone.
