Features of Huawei Mate 90 RS Ultimate

The Huawei Mate 90 RS Ultimate brings luxury and performance together in one flagship smartphone. Here are some notable features.

Design and Build Quality

The Huawei Mate 90 RS Extraordinary Master Edition stands out with a bold, monochromatic look and a distinctive two-tone back panel. It comes in three dual-tone color options: red, black, and white. Its titanium side frame adds strength while maintaining a refined appearance. Also, the micro-textured finish gives the body a distinctive look and feel.

Notably, the phone uses third-generation basalt-based Kunlun Glass on both the front and back. The camera module features optical Kunlun glass. Meanwhile, the rear panel uses dynamic, graded Kunlun glass. It also carries IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Display Quality

The Huawei Mate 90 RS Ultimate features a large 6.9-inch dual-layer LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1320 × 2848 pixels. Its 120Hz refresh rate keeps scrolling, animations, and supported games smooth. Meanwhile, HDR Vivid and BT.2020 color support deliver rich colors and immersive viewing experiences.

The display also supports up to 12,000 nits of peak brightness under a specific, isolated video-playback measurement. This figure does not represent full-screen brightness during everyday use. The screen’s 1440Hz PWM dimming may also reduce visible flicker for some users at lower brightness levels.

Performance and Software

At the heart of this Mate 90 RS master edition is the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset. This is paired with the Mali-G955 GPU and 16GB of RAM. Its nine-core CPU handles everyday tasks, multitasking, and demanding applications. The GPU manages graphics for games and other visually intensive workloads.

Huawei also highlights improvements in single-core and multi-core performance, as well as faster rendering. Huawei claims gains of,

• 24% in single-core peak performance
• 52% multi-core performance
• 142% rendering performance

These are manufacturer-reported figures, so real-world results may vary depending on the test and workload. The phone runs HarmonyOS 7.0. It also supports HDR processing via an independent SoC, which enhances image processing and visual quality.

Camera Quality

The Huawei Mate 90 RS Master edition packs a triple rear camera system with

• A 50MP main camera
• A 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and
• A 40MP ultrawide camera

Rather than relying on megapixels alone, the system combines optical stabilization, variable aperture, and advanced color processing.

The 50MP main camera features a variable f/1.4–f/4.0 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). This allows the camera to adjust its aperture to different lighting conditions and shooting needs. Its RYYB sensor technology improves light capture under suitable conditions. Meanwhile, OIS reduces blur caused by hand movements.

Advanced Color Reproduction

The phone features a third-generation multispectral camera sensor to improve color accuracy. Huawei claims this sensor

• Improves color reproduction by 37%
• Skin-tone reproduction accuracy by 62%

These figures suggest a focus on more natural-looking colors, especially for portraits and scenes with mixed lighting. Actual results depend on the scene and camera settings.

Camera Lens Compatibility

Notably, the Mate 90 RS Ultimate edition is listed as compatible with the snap-on Ruiying Z10 camera lens without a separate case. This accessory could offer additional creative options for mobile photography.

Battery and Charging

This premium smartphone packs a 6800mAh battery. This will provide substantial capacity for long days of photography and multitasking. Its 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging offer flexible recharge options.
